My wife and I celebrated her birthday here as it is the nicest of the few restaurants open on Beech Mountain off season. We ordered the stuffed portobello mushroom appetizer, and a sirloin steak, baked potatoes and broccoli. The mushroom was excellent, as were the other items we ordered. The bread was warm and soft. In short, the meal was terrific. Our server did a tremendous job on meeting our needs.

A wonderful little place that served us soon before closing and took us in and treated us very well. It’s an unassuming place that offers very delicious food with a great staff. A bonus surprise was the large bourbon selection, which the owner personally helped me try out a couple new bourbons. He was very knowledgeable, and seem to generally care that I had a good experience. The food was delicious and cooked very well, and overall had a great experience. Hope to come back to see the slope view soon!

My wife and I decided to get a drink on Beech and really wanted a view. We stopped at the new location for the Alpen Restaurant (shared building with Bullwinkels Pizza) and decided to sit outside on their deck that overlooks the slope. They have a great bourbon selection and we settled on a couple of Buffalo Trace cocktails on the rocks. We were hungry and ordered the spinach & artichoke app…wow, it was fantastic!!! Great experience and the staff was really nice. They are expanding too, building a larger dining room. This is really worth a visit if you are up on Beech.

Dead of winter and snow coming down! Looking for a good meal and these guys made it happen. Great steak, sides and cocktails! Highly recommended on top of the mountain!

We enjoyed a romantic, unexpected dinner here last night (due to the winter storm that delayed our trip home). The pecan encrusted trout (minus honey) and salmon were fabulous, as were the carrots and other sides!
